reflections
quiet conversations with soul & spirit
imperfection and wholeness
My journey is not about perfection or becoming who I am meant to be, but rather remembering and returning to who I have been all along.

Exhaustion
Quiet souls know the depth of exhaustion. This is not the kind of tired that a nap or restful vacation will resolve. This is the kind of exhaustion that runs deep within the soul when our inner and outer worlds are out of alignment.
We live beneath the surface in a world that idolizes and prioritizes all that exists above the surface. We are not interested in material pursuits, external validation, productivity, or conformity. We value stillness, quiet, individuation, and depth.
We are led by intuition, so we cannot always explain our choices or perspectives with proven science or logic.
While the modern world encourages superficial and constant connection, we crave solitude. Not because we dislike people, but because it is where we find true connection to ourselves, truth, and our place in the universe.
We are simply called to something deeper within, and to the outside world, this seems strange and incomprehensible. It is this constant swimming in different directions that leads to frustration and the feeling that our energy is constantly being depleted.
Our path requires us to return to center again and again, so that we may recharge and replenish our spirit.
This is how we counterbalance the noise, chaos, and distraction. Quietly, slowly, deeply.
In solitude I return to the deepest of connections where I am reminded that I am both alone and not alone at all.

solitude
Joy
Joy comes to us in moments of alignment, quiet, peace, and ease.
The rich inner lives our hearts enjoy is where we feel free to simply be, to wander, to contemplate, to play, and to let our spirit guide us to wherever it may lead.
Joy comes to us in the special moments we share with the people we choose to have in our lives.
We find joy in creativity. We create simply to enjoy the process without the pressure to share or perfect a technique. Delight comes from the experience itself.
Our souls are touched by the simple things. Waking up to birdsong on a summer morning, the poetic falling of colorful leaves in the fall, hugging a loved one, reading a book that nourishes our spirit, or simply sitting in complete silence.
Our souls require very little to experience joy, yet sometimes, it seems that these moments are the one ones that seem so elusive. They can easily get lost in the noise, or feel like they are simply out of reach, as though they are buried within the the exhaustion. In these moments, joy comes from the necessary withdrawal where spirit is nurtured with grace and compassion.
Allowing and creating space for quiet joy is the healing gift we give to ourselves.
exhaustion
I embrace that I am deeply tired and choose to take comfort in the sweet haven of rest.

Energy
It can feel as though the greatest challenge may simply be honoring our inner lives, while integrating in a world that often honors what we do not.
We value being over doing, We value depth and quality, while the masses are quick to move from the latest fad to the next.
In a society that has now come to expect constant connection, we need our space and solitude.
We are guided by slowness, contemplation, reflection, listening, and observation. This is how we make sense of things and navigate our life choices. Modern society on the other hand, rewards busyness, quick decisions, external validation, and showmanship.
We desire to pursue life gently and calmly. We are not ambitious in the traditional sense. Our ambition is simply to live in genuine connection to ourselves and our place in the universe.
We do not follow the crowd, as we know this is rarely the path for us. Hence we are seen as stubborn, aloof, or anti-social.
While many people feel lonely when alone, this is when we feel most connected. We feel loneliest when surrounded by people, as rarely do we connect in the deep, meaningful way we desire.
The life of a quiet soul often feels like one of an outsider who struggles to feel at home in this world.
To preserve and protect our energy and peace, we must constantly return to the clarity and ease that exists in the quiet depths of our being.
I immerse myself in sacred quiet moments, so that I may be comforted by the whispers of my soul.

quiet
Peace
Peace to quiet, sensitive souls is like nectar to bees. It's what we instinctively crave. It feeds and energizes us. It's what allows us to show up when it matters.
We nurture our peace because it is as essential to our souls as the air we breathe is to our physical bodies.
We find peace in letting go. As quiet souls, we often take on responsibilities of others and things that are not in our control. But these are not ours to carry, so we let go.
We let go of societal expectations and instead follow our own inner guide. We stop seeking answers, and sit in the stillness, creating the space for the answers to reveal themselves.
We find peace in joy. We allow ourselves to become fully absorbed by the moment, whether it be one of beauty, of creativity, of rest, of love, or simply being. Peace embraces us in these moments of deep connection with ourselves and others.
We find peace in nature. The sounds of birds chirping and leaves dancing in the gentle breeze. The warm rain that somehow embraces and releases our souls at the same time, leaving us refreshed and renewed.
We find these moments of peace whenever we can. Some days this is easy. Other days, if feels nearly impossible, and it is in those days that it becomes even more important for us to not only create moments of peace, but to protect them.
We do this not as selfishness or as an escape, but rather to feed our souls and connection to our center. It is where we belong and where we find our energy and strength to be fully present in the world.
Peace keeps us going. Slowly, steadily, intentionally.
awakened
My spirit awakens , emerging in ways I recognize and in new ways that I can only assume appear when I am ready to receive them.

A force within guides me along with answers I cannot always explain at the time, but they eventually become clear. I am grateful for the wisdom.

wisdom
nature
I sit silently as the sun rises, listening to birdsong, and watching the leaves and flowers gently wave in the breeze. Time passes, and I sit under the light of the light of the moon, listening to nature's night symphony, and watching fireflies dance. I am one with nature.

I value the simplicity and clarity of truth. It is enough. It is everything.

truth
unbroken
I may feel broken or lost sometimes, but I am not. I stay connected to this truth, especially when it is not easy to do so.

My essence is renewed by the grace and beauty of simply being. In this moment, I am free of noise, roles, and responsibilities. The world goes on to do what it does, while I am showered with the peace and tranquility that allows me to breathe lightly and hear the faintest whispers of my soul.

essence
harmony
When observing all that happens naturally around me, I find myself also observing what happens naturally within me. The answers to my questions reveal themselves intuitively in true harmony.

There are times I find myself needing to withdraw from the world, not as an escape, but as an answer to the deeper calling of my soul. Here, my spirit rests, breathes and grows in preparation for when I am again ready to return with meaningful direction and purpose.

withdrawal
unknowing
As we become wiser, we no longer seek answers. Instead, we allow the answers to come to us when they are ready, and surrender to the notion that some questions may not have any answers.

The universe invites me to share in the unifying spirit that touches me through the wind, that warms my heart with the sounds of nature's creations, and that connects me to the vast sky above and everything in it.

the universe
bridges
Building a bridge between my soul and modern society at times seems impossible, for we are too different, and the odds seem against me. The modern world values materialistic pursuits, productivity, and distractions. I value the preservation of depth, stillness, and quiet. However, spirit whispers the way and when I listen, the path becomes clearer. The bridge to the outside world forms when the bridge to my inner peace is strengthened.
